Junior KG (UKG)

Exploring literacy, numeracy, and creative expression in the UKG years.

Overview

Junior KG (UKG)

Junior KG at Gita School delivers Stage 3 of the CBSE Foundational Stage curriculum for children aged 4.5 to 5.5 years. At this level, students deepen their skills in language, literacy, and numeracy, preparing to read and write sentences.

We introduce phonics systematically, teaching letter-sound correspondences and blending skills to help them read simple words. Mathematical learning progresses to addition concepts, spatial shapes, and data sorting.

Through nature studies and environment themes, children explore natural sciences, plants, animals, and their immediate environment. This fosters active observation and inquiry, encouraging them to question how things work.

Reading and writing begin with phonics exploration. Junior KG provides the tools for independent expression.
