Class I

Entering CBSE Primary — establishing core literacy, maths, and science skills.

Overview

Class I

Class I marks the start of the CBSE Foundational Stage Primary curriculum at Gita School. Moving into primary education, students engage with structured core subjects: English, Mathematics, EVS (Environmental Studies), and Second Language (Tamil/Hindi).

In English, the focus shifts to comprehensive reading, spelling patterns, and creative paragraph writing. In Mathematics, students study numbers up to 100, addition/subtraction, shapes, and data handling.

EVS introduces basic concepts of living things, materials, light, and forces, taught through active experimentations and observations. Art and Physical Education are also integrated.

In Class I, learners begin to build logical connections across reading, counting, and observing.
