Silambam

Reviving the ancient Tamil martial art of agility, focus, and strength.

Silambam is an ancient stick-fighting martial art originating from Tamil Nadu. At Gita School, we are proud to offer Silambam as a key co-curricular activity, connecting our students with their rich local heritage while building exceptional physical agility and mental focus.

Silambam is more than stick-rotation; it is a meditation in motion that connects us to our ancestors' wisdom, strength, and discipline.

The practice of Silambam involves footwork patterns, stick manipulation, spinning techniques, and defensive maneuvers. Under the guidance of traditional masters, students learn to handle the stick with speed, precision, and grace, building incredible hand-eye coordination and core strength.

Beyond physical benefits, Silambam instills a sense of heritage and pride. It teaches discipline, alert awareness, and physical control, molding students who are physically capable and culturally rooted.
