Design Thinking Framework

Applying human-centred design principles to innovation and community problem-solving.

Overview

Design Thinking Framework

Design Thinking introduces students to the principles of human-centred design. This framework teaches students to start with empathy — understanding the needs and challenges of others before attempting to build solutions.

Through the five stages of Design Thinking (Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test), students learn to create tangible solutions for community problems, design creative products, and refine their ideas based on real-world feedback.

This approach bridges the gap between academic theory and practical innovation, showing students how their knowledge can directly impact the lives of people around them.

Design thinking begins with empathy — a deep understanding of the people for whom we are building solutions.
