A learner-centred approach places the child — not the content, not the examination, not the teacher — at the absolute centre of the educational process. This is the foundational philosophy of the CBSE curriculum under NEP 2020, and it shapes every aspect of how teaching and learning happen at Gita School. Instead of delivering information to passive recipients, our educators design learning experiences that activate each child's natural curiosity, agency, and desire to understand.

In a learner-centred classroom, children are not empty vessels to be filled with knowledge. They are active participants in their own learning journey. They ask questions. They investigate. They form hypotheses and test them. They make connections between what they are learning and the world they experience every day. Under NEP 2020, the CBSE framework emphasises experiential learning, art-integrated education, sports-integrated learning, and toy-based pedagogy — meaning children learn by doing, creating, exploring, and questioning.

The research evidence in support of learner-centred education is extensive and consistent. Students who learn in learner-centred environments develop stronger intrinsic motivation, greater metacognitive awareness, deeper understanding of content, better problem-solving skills, and — critically — a love of learning that persists long after the classroom years are over.
